Customer Reviews

Works great!!5
Works great. The dispensing feature is the key feature that sets this apart from other tools. It's makes it extremely easy to get the used oil into containers for recycling. No more funnels/towels for spills etc.

Granted, instructions may not be completely detailed, but this is a TOOL not an appliance. One shouldn't expect a wrench to come with 10 pages of instructions.

For those of you complaining about slow suction, here are some tips:

1) Warm up the engine.
2) Use the largest tube that fits down the dipstick
3) Remove the oil fill cap!!! Modern crankcases are airtight. If you don't remove the oil fill cap, then the only way for air to get in to displace the oil you're sucking out is the tiny space between the dipstick and the tube. You're forming a vaccuum that is working against the tool.
If you've imploded your tool, you've overpumped it, there was something else that was holding up your suction that you did not address.

If you doubt the speed, first practice using the new tool with plain water (clean unit only please: don't mix water with your oil) to get an idea of how everything works, and make sure you don't have any leaks in your connections.

Works well...but it's S L O W4
I had read about evacuators on a few forums - it works as described. No complaints other than the amount of time it took do draw 8 quarts.
that said, perhaps the first use included a bit of a learning curve.

The fill/drain capability looked appealing, but if you don't need to use this device to fill fluids, I would opt for the drain-only device - less moving parts, fewer things can fail.

It sucks, it blows, revel in it4
Pump it, baby, pump it!!!!!! Then, let it blow!!!! or, move a valve and let it suck. Withdraw liquids or dispense them. The narrow tubing allows access to tight narrow spaces. Mine was made in Taiwan. Nowadays, unlike years past, I have observed an increase in quality of many Taiwan-made products.

To assist in longevity I do not over-pump the critter. It IS made of plastic. The device seems to be solid enough for home use but abuse may be problematic and you don't want to drop it since plastic can crack.

As others uttered within their reviews, the withdrawing/dispensing of fluids is an evolution requiring some patience since the size of the tubes limits the fluid flow.

But, for the typical home use, the time spent waiting for fluid to flow allows time for pondering, to meditate, to achieve a Zen-like state wherein one's thoughts become clearer, more focused, perhaps even achieving fluid flow enlightenment.

And that is a wonderful thing.
