Very Pleased with this Transmission Filter Kit

Reason for Purchase:
I bought this remote transmission filter kit
because Blackstone Laboratory reported my transmission fluid was too
dirty after changing out the fluid and filter. I learned that dirt was
washing out of the torque converter and causing problems with the valve
body.
Installation:
I found some Derale fittings (13018) to
tap into the cooler line at the radiator without cutting the factory
lines. I did not use the filter that came in this kit, but I used a
hydraulic filter rated at 10 microns (NAPA 1269).
I agree with
some of the other people that the inlet was not marked but the fluid
goes into the small holes of the filter (if anyone does not know). You
can download the instructions from the B&M website, but it is kinda
vague and you should have a good understanding of the vehicle you are
working on.
Results:
After 200 miles of driving, the
transmission was shifting much better and the fluid felt very slippery. I
sent the fluid back in for oil analysis after 500 miles and this time
the ATF was in good condition, it was not dirty like in the last two
reports. On a further note, the iron levels in the fluid was reduced
from 129 (PPM) to 82 after changing 2 gallons of fluid, and reduced to
22 after installing this filter kit with another fluid change. *The
particle count of the transmission fluid is now within normal limits and
no longer a concern.
Summary:
This B&M filter kit is a
worthwhile investment for anyone who does a lot of stop and go driving,
towing, or is abusive to their vehicle such as off road driving. As
noted above, this remote filter kit saved me hundreds of dollars by not
having to get a rebuilt transmission due to driveability problems caused
by dirty fluid.

Transmission Saver

This filter kit works great. The hardest part is deciding where to
mount it. Ideally somewhere it can be easily reached, mounted upside
down to minimize fluid loss when you change the filter. I ended up
using a small bracket to mount it to the frame behind the license plate
so it is protected from damage but easy to get to and good air flow for
additional cooling.

This can't be it already...

I ordered this on Wednesday 12/16. The order said it would be 9-12
days, I should expect it on the 22nd. Much to my surprise it was on my
doorstep 24 hours later!! The kit comes exactly as desribed, the filter
is actually a Purolator with a B&M sticker. There is no hose
included, but the clamps are. There are also no instructions included,
but if you are ordering this, they must expect you have the know how to
install it. Its been on for under 50 miles, and I dont know if its
plecebo effect or what, but it seems to not slip as much between 1-2 and
not at all between 2-3 or 3-4 now :)
I must say so far - I couldent be happier
